In a groundbreaking move that reinforces Dubai’s position as a global hub in the aviation industry, His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Chairman of Emirates Group, along with His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan and His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, officially inaugurated the world’s largest private aviation terminal in the Aviation District of Dubai South. This exceptional facility reflects Dubai’s continuous ambition to provide the very best, not only in infrastructure but also in delivering a seamless experience for VIP travelers.

A Key Role in Dubai’s Aviation Vision

His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum stated that the opening of this terminal marks a significant step towards achieving Dubai’s vision of becoming a global capital for aviation. He emphasized that the Aviation District in Dubai South serves as a fully integrated platform, equipped with cutting-edge infrastructure and world-class facilities. His Highness added that this terminal will set new benchmarks for luxury and premium services for global travelers, focusing on delivering an exceptional experience for VIPs.

Investment in the Future

Khalifa Al Zaffin, CEO of Dubai Aviation City Corporation and Dubai South, revealed that the terminal was developed with an investment of AED 100 million, which included infrastructure, aircraft parking, and support facilities. He highlighted that the terminal currently hosts four private aviation companies, with an expected growth in flight operations to around 14,000 flights annually.

Al Zaffin affirmed that this facility strengthens Dubai’s position as a primary destination for private aviation. He further noted that ongoing discussions are taking place with additional operators to expand operations in the near future.

Dubai’s New Gateway for VIP Travelers

The private aviation terminal spans 5,600 square meters and is located just minutes away from Al Maktoum International Airport, making it an ideal gateway for VIP travelers. Since April 2016, the terminal has handled over 1,000 flights, with sustainable growth anticipated in the coming years.
